Aug 4-7, 1980. Fair Dates
**The GCARA had a booth at the Gratiot County Fair for youth in the Armory Bldg. at a cost of $10.00 per night. The fellows and Kelly went out Sunday (Aug 3) and put up antennas- a 15m monabander (compliments of WA8AEG). Two sections of a tower and a 2 m beam (compliments of WD8KMW) and a 40 m dipole. TV monitor and camera (compliments of K8RI) was a big success for all who came through the door of the armory. KA8CZO, chairman of the event, took the Kenwood 520S and also the Kenwood 7625 out to the armory. WD8PZT took his Ten-Tec 540 and keyer and Azden out for use. WA8FCP took his ICom 2036 one night. Operating time was every evening 7:00 pm- 10:00 pm. THE CLUB CELEBRATED IT’S 50TH ANNIVERSARY THIS YEAR. **Taken from the history of GCARA by Berniece Woodland.
