Good evening and welcome to the weekly GCARA (Gratiot County Amateur Radio
Association) Net. All amateur Radio operators are welcome to attend. This is a
directed net so please direct all traffic through the net control station, Mike, N5QYQ who
will be serving as your net control operator this evening. Emergency or Priority traffic
will take precedence. At this time, is there any station with Emergency or priority traffic,
please call now. Please give your call sign phonetically, slowly, so I can make sure I
get them correctly Nothing heard, we will now proceed with regular check-in’s for this
evening’s net. We’ll start with any Mobile check-ins. Are there any mobile check-in’s?
Please call now. Now we’ll go to fixed station check-in’s. Fixed stations please call now.

TRIVIA QUESTION:
Trivia question number 1: If you have participated in an annual ARRL Field day, or another
special event, in what types of locations were they, and what location was your most
memorable?
Responses: Have not participated in FD but has helped Ingham County with their
digital communications set up; Ithaca Park with Sherriff’s communications trailer, Ranier Park;
Hops to do a bunch of stuff, including Ingham County; Likes participating in FD set-ups and
working at the EOC; GCARA Field Day at the gravel Pits at corner of Warner and Olive Roads,
campgrounds, County fairs, Lighthouse activations during International Lighthouse Lightship
Weekend, and special event stations.

Jason – All approvals have been received for installation of the Cedar Lake Repeater on
top of the water tower, the antenna has been tested and will be installed soon, possibly
within the next month or so. Stay tuned!
